Front windshield: A tint strip applied along the top edge of the windshield, reaching down to either the top of the wiper path or the upper 10% of the windshield—whichever is lower.
Front Sides: 35% VLT (visible light transmitted)
Rear: 20% VLT (visible light transmitted)
Window tint darker than these limits can result in fines or vehicle defect notices.

Some films advertise an “IR rejection” figure, but that number is measured only over a specific infrared wavelength range (and different brands may use different ranges). It doesn’t represent the total amount of heat entering a room or car. The best way to understand a film’s real-world performance is to look at its Total Solar Energy Rejected (TSER) value, which accounts for infrared, visible light and ultraviolet together.
